Marwan Kheireddine is of the biggest and most reputable names in Lebanon. He was born on 14th February 1968 in Hasbaiyya, Lebanon. He attended Richmond University, UK, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Economics before proceeding for his MBA in Columbia Business School, New York.
His strong educational background has played a major role in his major successes. For instance, Marwan Kheireddine currently owns the AM Bank which operates in the outskirts of Lebanon. He serves as the Chairman and CEO at the bank. Previously, between July 2011and Feb 2014, he served as the Minister of State in the Lebanese government.
During his time as a minister, he played a significant role in fighting for economic and financial stability for Lebanese citizens. With a solid educational background in banking, he was the perfect candidate for the job. He rallied for endorsements and fought for policies useful in safeguarding his country’s banking sector. He played a key role in drafting and approval of some of the most crucial policies including the Capital Markets Law, updating the Anti-Money Laundering Law, and the Cross-Border Cash Limitation.
Marwan Kheireddine also served as a finance Lecturer between 1993 and 2013 at the American University of Beirut. Besides, he was also elected to the university’s Olayan Business School and the Middle East Advisory Board in 2005, roles which he still holds up to date.
